The way they work:

Teams go around together

Team leader moves between them on scooter

Each month they get a shared performance related bonus based on amounts brought in by the team

I have decided not to use the flyers in the way I have been advised to by some of the wilder elements in my circle. This would be unkind to some people. And I like people.

Nontrepreneurial idea: Invigilation Support Service

I'm thinking that The Doomsbury Set should set up an Invigilation Support Service to provide company, sustenance and support for those invigilating art exhibitions. I envisage a small van loaded up with coffee, wine, bread, olives and a big lump of cheese travelling from gallery to gallery. Shoulder or foot massage might be offered. In addition we would come prepared to gossip about the other invigilators, numbers of visitors, quality of curation etc. As is our usual practice the Negative Business Model (NBM) would apply: instead of ‘customers’ paying for this service we, members of the impoverished Set, would donate an amount to them for the priviledge.

Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.

The History of Minimalism

"The main interest in life and work is to become someone else that you were not in the beginning." Lenin's faction took the name Bolshevik (derived from the Russian word bol'she (больше) meaning "more" or "bigger") despite losing the vote and actually being the numerically smaller faction. It can be explained from the fact that they had won a vote at the congress on the composition of the Iskra editorial board. Though the term Bolshevik originated due to a procedural vote, it acquired an additional connotation as Lenin's faction "wanted more", i.e. were more radical than Mensheviks, who "wanted less". This was the way the terms were generally understood abroad. In English, for instance, the press for a number of years translated "Bolsheviks" as "Maximalists" and "Mensheviks" as "Minimalists".

Predebate, poetry, Prepoetry, pretry, try again, tryin

I am standing on the pavement next to a set of traffic lights which have now turned to read.
If I turn to my right I am, now faced with ahand.
A painted hand on a board.
The board is, if I am fivefoot, the board is perhaps sevenfoot.
The hand is holding a gun.
The gun is as tall as me. (I)
I can see the top of the gun.
It is being held by a figure.
Who's body I can see.
'Busts' I think they are called
I can see a bust of a figure.
With no hair, but yet,
the board disects his face.
It is a man.
He is smoking an illegal cigarette let's say
And he is wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
He doesn't look happy to see me.
But yet, if he were lifesize he would probably be alot bigger than me.
His image so close to me is a curious-thing.
His aggression is a curious-thing.
The effort to paint such smoke,
The effort to paint such pattern if you like
Is done with the same aggression.
This is his patch.
This is his territory.
His territory sits opposite the New England Quarter
Whereby members of the public,
Members of the community let's say,
Are faced with his face on a daily basis.
Do they have weapons and narcotics to compete?
With his territory? Perhaps they don't.
What are the answers?
What can we do?
When a blight on the landscape,
One the cityscape is so-
Visual, so literal,
How does one act?
Re-act?
Is it not a form of Digital Realism?
Is it not Grand Theft Auto made visable?
Made Large.
Made incomprehensible.
Made violent.
Made aggressive?
Saying
"Whad tha f*ck do you want?"
